Maintenance/Facilities Manager
The Vernon County Agricultural Society dba the Vernon County Fair, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is seeking a self motivated and dependable Maintenance and Facilities Manager that is passionate about the fair and its success.
The Maintenance and Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the building/grounds/facilities on the fairgrounds, along with event preparation, camping and storage. This is a hands-on position that combines building/grounds/facilities maintenance, light equipment operation, construction, fabrication, custodial and management responsibilities. The work requires physical stamina, attention to detail, the ability to work with others and is able to work in various conditions.
Salaries are based on experience and abilities.
Minimum Requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Related educational or professional experience.
- A valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
- Car or Truck.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance.
- Must be able to push, pull or lift 50 pounds or more.
- Must have good dexterity in hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment needed for the job.
Schedule/Hours.
- 40 hours per week.
- Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm (April 1st through November 1st).
- Some weekends, after hours and on call, may be required based on events.
- November 1st through April 1st (Limited Hours).
- Additional hours may be required for fair
- The week before fair (Preparation)
- The week of fair
- The week after fair (Cleanup)
Compensation and Allowances.
- Salaries are based on experience and abilities.
- Salaries are calculated by the number of hours worked from (April 1st through November 1st).
- Salaries are paid year round
- Raises and bonuses, are possible

Grounds
- Mow, edge, weed, and blow grounds to maintain landscape appearance.
- Pick up litter and debris on properties, especially during and after events.
- Maintain the grounds in a way that ensures the safety of everyone.

Compliance and Safety:
- Work in a safe manner for oneself and others, keeping the work area clean and safe.
- Follow safety rules and practices and use safety equipment as required.
- The employee shall be knowledgeable and follow Vernon County Fair’s safety policies and procedures.
- The employee must immediately report any accidents, unusual occurrences, or any other safety-related issues to his/her supervisor.
